Membership

Membership in Denver NLAPW is open to all qualified women writers, artists and composers in Colorado.

A candidate for Active Letters Membership shall submit at least three samples of original work or one of book length, along with proof of sale within the last five years.

A candidate for Active Arts Membership shall submit three photographs and/or slides of work with proof of sale, and proof of participation in three juried shows within the last five years.

A candidate for Active Music Membership shall submit at least three original works or arrangements, published or unpublished, composed within the last five years, along with proof of payment for at least one, or proof of at least one public performance.

A candidate for Associate Membership (in Letters, Art or Music) must present three samples of published work, but need not have received remuneration.

All applicants for either Active or Associate Membership must be endorsed by the Denver Branch and approved by the National Membership Board.

In addition, the Denver Branch offers a Provisional Membership to encourage women striving for professional status in writing or in the arts to become regular members of NLAPW. Provisional members will not be members of the NLAPW national organization but of the Denver Branch only. Provisional members must apply to renew their membership each year. This request is reviewed by the Denver Branch or a committee therof each year.
